International Women's Day 2012


On 8th March 2012, Taylor & Francis India celebrated International Women’s Day dedicated to all the hardworking ladies in the organization. The company presented every women in the organization with a women’s day card and a white embroidered hanky signifying peace created by a disabled artist. Taylor and Francis India has liaised with the ‘Family of Disabled’ an NGO dedicated to serving persons with disabilities. The card was created by an artist, Arveend Budh Singh, New Delhi with Polio in the Lower Limb (left). The handkerchief was prepared by two artists with polio in their lower limbs.

The card featured a beautiful poem celebrating womanhood written by Aldeena Raju, our copyeditor from the Routledge India Originals Team.


Holi 2012, T&F Style


Taylor & Francis India celebrated HOLI on 7th March 2012. The Festival of Colors marks the opening festival in Hindu calendar, falls on the full moon day in the month of Phalgun. Originally Holi was regarded to be the festival to celebrate good harvests and fertility of the land. People enjoy themselves playing with several colours and celebrate the whole day with much pump and gaiety. More importantly, Holi signifies collaborative camaraderie between people. It is a forum to connect emotionally!!

Taylor & Francis India played Holi with herbal colors and had freshly made Gujia, a traditional sweet made of sugar, wheat and nuts.





The Biennial 20th World Book Fair, 2012

Taylor & Francis Group participated in The Biennial 20th World Book Fair, 2012, held at the heart of India – New Delhi, from 25 February – 4 March 2012. Taylor & Francis Group was placed at Hall No. 12 A, Stall No. 163-174. We displayed over 2000 books covering our imprints such as Routledge, CRC Press, Garland Science, Psychology Press, Earthscan, Routledge India Originals, BIOS Scientific Publishers, Europa Publications, Marcel Dekker, SPON Press and much more. We also displayed our complete product range of Journals & Online Resources. We had great presence, good business, brilliant footfall, and the support of all the members of Taylor Francis in this fair.

Theme of the 2012 World Book Fair was “An International Rights Exhibition of Books on Indian Cinema Towards Hundred Years of Indian Cinema.” Moreover, a catalogue including 300 titles representing publications of 800 publishers in all major languages based on Indian cinema has been released by NBT. The World Book Fair prime motto is to provide a valuable edge between authors, publishers, booksellers and readers. The inauguration of the World Book Fair 2012 was done by Hon'ble Minister of HRD, Shri Kapil Sibal on 25 February, 2012. It was a big success and around 1300 exhibitors & 12,000 publishers displayed thousands of books in more than 20 languages. Several publishers from foreign countries like Europe, Asia and Americas have participated in the event. Penguins, HarperCollins, Random House, Simon & Schuster, Macmillan, Orient Blackswan etc., are some of the biggest names from trade publishing who made the weekend fulfilling and profitable.

Kolkata Book Fair 2012

Taylor & Francis Group participated in The 36th International Kolkata Book Fair 2012 from 25 January 2012 – 5 February 2012. The focal theme country was Italy. The inauguration of the Kolkata Book Fair 2012 was done by Mr. Beppe Severgnini, Italian journalist and author on 24th January 2012.  More than 100 publishers such as Harper – Collins; Elsevier; Tata McGraw-Hill etc participated in the fair and displayed their books. Local publishers such as script, katha o kahini, projapati etc. displayed the regional language books. Over 1.7 Million book lovers visited the fair in 12 days. There were pavilions dedicated to the international countries such as America, Bangladesh and the theme country Italy. 

Taylor & Francis Group won the ‘Best Stall Award 2012’ in the small category at the Kolkata Book Fair again in the 2nd consecutive year. Last year, Taylor & Francis Group won the ‘Best Stall Award 2011’.
