Journal Online Sales Conference 2012: 22nd April – 26th April 2012

Taylor & Francis India organised the Journals Online Sales Conference in Hotel Le – Meridian, Delhi from 22 April – 26 April 2012.  The conference included 40 delegates from all over the world who came together to discuss their achievements, future strategies and goals. The theme of the conference was ‘The future belongs to those who prepare for it today’.

The conference started with a Gala dinner hosted at Le–Meridian’s – Pakwan Restaurant on 22 April 2012. Everyone met after a long time and there was a lot of laughter and warm hugs around.
The conference started on a very positive note with Ashleigh welcoming everyone and introducing the agenda for the days to come. The long sessions during the conference were inter-mingled with yoga sessions to give everyone a good stretch. There was a lot of brain storming around in form of workshops, discussion sessions etc.

The delegates got a chance to savour the food specially selected by the award winning Indian Master Chef Sanjeev Kapoor besides attending a musical Bollywood bonanza celled Zangoora, at the Kingdom of dreams – We took them to Kingdom of Dreams in the evening which is a spectacular world of unparalleled imagination that brings to a blend of India’s culture, heritage, art, crafts, cuisine and performing arts buttressed with the mind boggling technological wizardry of today. The sequels of laughter were well worth the effort!!

The delegates were also introduced to the Indian hospitality when we planned a surprise birthday treat for Ian Jones – Journals Sales Director, UK during the conference by cutting a birthday cake and small gift from T&F.

The conference ended with a Bhangra performance by the students of Khalsa College, Delhi. Bhangra is the folk dance of Punjab with beautiful colours, based on music from a dhol, folk singing, and the chimta. The accompanying songs were small couplets written in the Punjabi language called bolis. Everybody danced alongwith the performers with full of happiness and joy.

Finally, we bid good bye to all the delegates as we took them on a tour to Agra to show one of the seven wonders of the world – TAJ MAHAL. Taj Mahal is regarded as one of the seven wonders of the world, and one of the most beautiful monument built by the Mughals, the Muslim rulers of India. Built entirely of white marble, its stunning architectural beauty is beyond adequate description as it seems to glow in the light of the full moon.

This was a truly wonderful experience!
